Charles James West was born in Boliver, Missouri, January 1, 1888.  He came to Oklahoma in 1889.
Mr. West was a retired lumberman and owner of A.L. West Lumber Company, here in Cheyenne and other area towns.  He was a member of Oklahoma Lumberman's Association.
He was a member of Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City where he lived.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Sally West Highley; one grandson, John M. Highley, Jr., great grandson, John C. Highley; and great granddaughter, Heidi Ann Highley, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to The Cancer Research Foundation.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 1979, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma under the direction of Guardian Midtown.
