Alva Lenora West was born in Collins County, Texas October 10, 1868, and departed this life at her home near Strong City on December 13, 1944 at the age of 76 years, two months and three days.
On December 21, 1888 at McKinney, Texas, she was united in marriage to Mr. H.H. Hendershot and in the spring of 1916 they came to Roger Mills County where she resided until her death. Mrs. Hendershot was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Grace Zuber, Melrose, New Mexico; Dick, A.T., and Herbert Hendershot of Strong City, Oklahoma; Alton Hendershot of Canadian, Texas; E.E. Hendershot, of Dixon, California; one
sister, Mrs. Clara Lyons of Anna, Texas; one brother, G.W. West of Anna, Texas; also 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
