PIONEER DIES IN RED STAR
Bill Patton, who had lived in this community for many years, died Wednesday March 2, 1966 at the age of 78. He was one of the old-timers and had long been known for the thoroughbred racing horses he raised. He loved horses and took great pride in them. At the time of his death, he owned 22 thoroughbred horses.
In 1930 he raced horses at the State Fair in Oklahoma.
His funeral was Saturday afternoon at the Red Star Church.

LAST RITES SET FOR PATTON
William H. "Bill" Patton 78 died Wednesday February 23, 1966 in his home in Red Star.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Red Star Church and burial will be in the Red Star cemetery.
Mr. Patton was born Dec. 8, 1888 in Stephenville, Tex. He was married to Ethel Burch who preceded him in death June 26, 1963.
Survivors are three daughters, Jeanneau Schmidt and Pat Patton, both of Oklahoma City and Sue Anthony of Compton, Calif; one brother, Bill, of Bayfield, Colo, five sisters, Mrs. Lydia McKay, Mrs. Fannie Troutman and Mrs. Ollie Newton; all of Leedey, Mrs. Dovie Russell, of Glendale, California and Mrs. Ethel McKay, of Guymon, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Shaw Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
