Mr. Ballard was stricken with a serious cold which terminated in pneumonia. He survived the pneumonia and returned to his home last week. He developed a serious gall bladder trouble, which necessitated an operation. Realizing his weakned condition, he was conscious of the fact that he probably could not survived, so he spent as much time as possible at home, in an effort to get his affairs in the best shape possible should he not be able to successfully withstand the operation that was necessary. When he returned to the hospital it was found that he had suffered a ruptured gall bladder and his condition was critical. He passed away at an Elk City hospital Thursday afternoon.
