Submitted by: Wanda Purcell

For about fifteen years Mr. Dunn and Mr. Slack of Crawford were partners in the cattle business.
Last Thursday Dunn killed Slack as they were returning from Strong City.
It seems they had dissolved their partnership, and had been to town that day, tryin to fix up the papers. Returning home, so says Dunn, he remarked as they could not agree on a settlement, that they would have to have a receiver appointed.
He said at this Mr. Slack pulled a gun and pointed to him saying that "this will settle it" Dunn then shot him, killing him.
He sent word to the sheriff and hid out, but was afterwards found.
Dunn is married.
