Submitted by: Wanda Purcell

Lewis James McKay was born near Princeton, Mercer county, Missouri on the 18th day of April, 1865.
He came to Oklahoma in the winter of 1904, hoping to regain his health, and settled three miles north of Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, where he died September 11, 1905.
He leaves a wife and six children and a host of friends.
Our loss is his eternal gain. How blessed it is to die in the Lord. He bid all his friends meet him in heaven.
The family took the remains back to Missouri for burial in Scott Hill Cemetery, Princeton, Missouri.
