Castleberry Family

George Everett Castleberry was born in March 1884 in the State of Arkansas one of several children born to Rittie and John T. Castleberry. The parents were from Missouri and Tennessee respectively as reflected on the 1900 Federal census for Indian Territory, Choctaw Nation, Twp 5.

George moved with his family to Western Oklahoma in the Sanstone-Herring area. In 1914 he married Nora Bates who had come from Texas. George and Nora owned and operated a general merchandise store, post office and cream station at Herring.
To George and Nora Bates three children were born.
