Buster Brown Wood, 61, of Sayre, was born April 5, 1924 in Reydon, Oklahoma to John Asa and Ollie May Wood and passed away Saturday, January 11, 1986 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Buster grew up in the Reydon Community and was a farmer. In 1979 he moved to Sayre to make his home.Those who preceded him in death were both his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include 4 sisters, Pearlie Cowan of Milpitas, California; Lorene Gault of Cheyenne; Nellie Hartley of Reydon, Oklahoma and Barbara Cloyd of Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, J. A. Wood, Newalla, Oklahoma and Joe Wood, Cheyenne, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, January 13, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. in the Reydon Baptist Church with Joe Perry officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery of Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were Thoral Shaw, Melvin Thurman, Charlie Hartley, Harve Hartley, Gene Johnson and Gordon Thomas.
