Louise Kirk Walker was born August 22, 1936 in Grimes, Oklahoma to Freeda Mae and Elmo Wade Kirk. She passed away June 23, 2009 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 1 day.
Louise grew up in the Grimes community and graduated from Berlin High School in 1954.
She was married to Bud Walker at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on September 14, 1956. They lived in the Dempsey community where they farmed until their retirement and they moved to Elk City, Oklahoma to make their home. Louise loved farm life, cooking for her family and taking care of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gordon, Rod and Jerry; two grandchildren, two nephews, two infant nieces and one infant nephew.
She is survived by her husband, Bud; one daughter, Shirley Walker of Altus, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Martha Walker of Dempsey, Oklahoma; four sisters, Diana Conway of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Sharon and Dickie Tignor of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Betty and Richard Keahey of Roll, Oklahoma; Margie and John Anderson of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; four brothers, George Kirk of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Wallice and Glenda Kirk of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Wade and Nelda Kirk of McLean, Texas; Kenneth and Linda Kirk of Roll, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Ella Pearl Kirk of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Lesa Kirk of Sayre, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kayla, Kelci, Kandice, Kourtney, Samuel and Jonathan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com.
