Mary Ann Bean Thornton

Mrs. Mary Ann Bean Thornton was born December 25, 1876 and departed this life October 24, 1939 at the home in Meadowbrook community at the age of 62 years and 10 months.
Early in life she united with the Baptist Church.
On September 2, 1889, she was joined in holy matrimony with T. E. Thornton.
To this union six children were born. One died in infancy.
She leaves in her passing five children, Arthur Thornton, Beatrice Adams, Chester Thornton, David Thornton and Edith Marriott; her father, Mr. D. J. Bean; three sisters; one in Oregon, one in Canada and one in Oklahoma City; Mrs. Lizzie Blessings, who was present at the funeral; twelve grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was a good mother and neighbor. Before her illness she visited the sick in the community in which she lived.
In 1903 she came to western Oklahoma with her husband and homesteaded a farm. They have lived in this place and raised a family. They were of the old timers in this part of the state.
J. W. Carleton, pastor of the local Baptist church, officiated at the service.
Interment in Dempsey Cemetery.
