Henry Beierschmitt, who had lived in the Dempsey community for twenty four years, and one of that community's most respected citizens died in the Tisdal hospital at Elk City, March 16, 1925.
The remains were interred in the Dempsey cemetery, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. E. E. Grimes officiating. A large group of friends and relatives assembled at the cemetery for the service.
Mr. Beierschmitt was a native of Germany, but emigrated to this country in 1886.
He was married in New York City to Miss Caroline Kiessling and soon after his marriage came to Oklahoma and settled on the east side.
In 1901 he came to Roger Mills county and filed on a homestead adjoining the present home, living here until his death.
He was an industrious citizen and numbers of times had very materially assisted his friends.
While living in east Oklahoma he and his wife united with the Christian Church which relation they have maintained ever since.
We extend our sympathies to the stricken family in this hour of sadness.
