Carl Edward Woods

Carl Edward Woods was born May 14, 1935 in Inola, Oklahoma.
He departed this life November 24, 1969 at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was the son of William F. and Jessie Mae Woods.
He entered the Marine Corps in November of 1953, serving in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in November of 1957.
He was united in marriage to Laveta May Habecott, December 23, 1955, in the home of her parents in Ellis County. They lived in San Clemete, California until his discharge. To this union three children were born. Ed was saved during the County-wide revival in 1957 and united with the First Baptist church in Cheyenne. what a blessing to see this family, saved and follow their Lord in baptism.
He served his Lord in his quiet way passing out books and lceaning seats. He was post Commander of the Cheyenne American Legion post at the time of his passing. Survivors include his wife, Laveta; two sons, Carl William and Donnie Ray; one daughter, Brenda Kaylene all of Cheyenne; one brother, Emmett Lee Woods of Inola, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Florence Thompson; Lola Woods; and Dorothy Gillum, all of Claremore; and his father of Claremore. His mother and one sister preceded him in death. Ed's friends were numbered by his acquaintances.
Interment in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
