Funeral services for Mrs. Lenora Ann Poole Casady, 91 year old Roger Mills pioneer who died Friday afternoon at her home following an illness of many months, were conducted Sunday afternoon at First Methodist church in Cheyenne with Rev. Ray Menard, pastor, officating.
Burial was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Casady was born March 1, 1850 at Gulfport, Mississippi and was married to the late J. R. Casady in 1870 at Hubbard City, Texas.
They moved from Mineral Wells, Texas to old Greer county near Mangum in 1891.
Her husband came to Cheyenne at the opening of the Cheyenne-Arapaho country in 1892 and she and her family joined him here in November of the same year.
For nearly 50 years she had lived at their original home site in Cheyenne.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mollie Herring of Cheyenne; and three sons, Ott Casady of Cody, Wyoming; and Oscar Casady and John C. Casady of Cheyenne; eighteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as other relatives and friends.
