(permission granted)

Bobbie Vernell Williams was born March 28, 1934 and passed away January 19, 2020 at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 2 days.

Her parents were Lowell and Mary Amanda (Brown) Hayden. Vernell was born a few miles north of Strong City, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma. She was the fifth of five children born to this family.  In 1938, her family purchased land in the Square Top Community located four miles east and one mile north of Cheyenne on the Washita River.  Vernell attended the one room school at square top until it closed. Following the closure, she attended school at Strong City and Cheyenne. Vernell graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1952 and enrolled in Oklahoma A&M College that fall.  On January 24, 1953, she married Clifford Lee Williams from Berlin. Their college careers were interrupted that fall as Clifford entered the military service. To this union were born two sons, Donald Lee and Thomas Hayden Williams. Following Clifford's military service and completion of college, Vernell was a faithful wife and mother. She always supported his transfers and the families' moves to different states. She was also a faithful Christian woman. She taught Bible classes, always supported her husband in church activities and was a strong influence in rearing their sons. Two of the highlights in her life were serving as a volunteer in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX and being allowed the privilege of serving as president of the Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Oleta Falco and three brothers, George, Hubert and Dubert and their wives.

She is survived by her husband, sons Don and his wife Liz of Golden, CO, Tom and his wife, Gina, of Oklahoma City, OK and grand-daughter, Sarah Williams of Oklahoma City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
