Mrs. Dona Asylene Winburn died in the Elk City Hospital Saturday, December 7, 1969 following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the United Methodist church, Sayre, with Rev. Gordon Patterson officiating. Born January 18, 1898 at Comanche, Mrs. Winburn in 1900 moved with her parents to the Grimes community. She was married November 17, 1915, to John M. Winburn, Dempsey. They have resided in the Grimes and Berlin communities. They owned and operated the Berlin store, where they were the John Deere dealer a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964, one infant son, and one brother. Survivors are: one daughter, Bertha Plummer, Center, Colorado; two sons, J.D., of Sayre, George of Cheyenne; with whom she resided until her death. Twelve grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Thelma Cox, Del City; Mrs. Edith Hamilton, Sacramento, California; five brothers, Bert Brewer, Amarillo, Texas; Dee Brewer, Modesto, California; Ray Brewer, Vallejo, California; Bace Brewer, Sayre; and Jim Brewer, Mojay, California. Interment was in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
