Gene Austin Henry, age 82, passed from this world March 18th, 2017 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was born August 4th, 1934, in Sardis, Oklahoma to Oscar and Agnes (Ayers) Henry.

Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a Roughneck in the oilfield most of his life, as well as a Rancher. He loved to rope, rodeo and hog hunt, and enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren, and at the coffee shop eating a sandwich with Charlene.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; Oscar and Agnes (Ayers) Henry, his wife Evelyn Henry, son; Oscar Lee Henry, three sisters; Verna King, Hazel Johnson, and Beatrice Winton, two brothers; James Edward Henry and Baby Henry.

He is survived by two grandsons; Austin Henry and wife Krystal, Casey Henry and wife Cheryl, and one granddaughter; Macy Henry. Great-grandchildren; Leandra Potter and husband Colton, Dustin Henry and wife Claria, Dylan Henry, Page Henry, Oscar Henry, Mikaila Brooke Henry, and Brenndyn Storh. Daughter-in -law, LeeAnn Henry, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 2:00 PM, at the Buffalo Valley Baptist Church, with Rev. Dustin Grammer and Rev. Paul Dickson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery, Sardis, Oklahoma.

Pall Bearers will be: Dustin Henry, Dylan Henry, Oscar Henry, Brenndyn Storh, Colton Potter, and Jarit Baxter.
