Peggy Jane (Scott) Baze

Peggy Jane Baze went to be with the Lord Friday, November 4, 2016 in Denison, Texas at the age of 78. Peggy was born March 30, 1938 to Emmett Rhea and Rosalea (Stapp) Scott in Lockney, Texas.

Peggy married her husband John Henry Baze June 4, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico, they had been married 60 years. Together they raised five boys, Johnny, Mark, Robby, Russell, and Scott. Peggy has been a member of the Rattan community for 45 years. During that time Peggy's been a member of the Rattan Baptist Church. She worked many years for the Rattan School as a bus driver and always enjoyed her time with the students who rode her bus. Peggy always enjoyed being able to take care of her fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The time Peggy could spend with her family was always one of her happiest of times. 

Peggy is preceded in death by her father Emmett Rhea Scott, mother Rosalea Scott, and aunt Mary Nina Traylor.

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her husband of 60 years John Henry Baze; sons Johnny Wayne Baze and wife Donna of Rattan, Mark Randell Baze and wife Dolores of Cloudy, Robby Gene Baze and wife Diann of Rattan, Russell Joe Baze and wife Donna of Rattan, and Steven Scott Baze and wife Michelle of Rattan; sister Debra Lynn Todd and husband Louise Todd of Bonham; grandchildren Randell Wayne Baze and friend Phillip Dunford of Edmond, Jessica Lacy Carter and husband Clay of Rattan, Jo Belk of Rattan, Todd Belk and wife Donna of Bethel, Kelli Diane Fulks and husband Curits of McKinney, William Clayton Baze and wife Aubrey of Tulsa, Mark Duncan Baze of Rattan, Kayce Jo Baze of Rattan, Krista Ellen Baze of Rattan, Brittanie Dawn Grimmett and husband Justin of Finley, Stephanie Cheyenne Rogers and husband Clay of Antlers, Cassidy Nicole Baze of Antlers, Kaitlyn Michele Baze of Rattan, and Jacob Ray Baze of Rattan; great-grandchildren Clayci Jane Carter, Aubrey Lane Carter, Tanner Don Wilson, Ian Curtis Fulks, Isaac Henry Fulks, Elizabeth Dianne Fulks, Emerson Ray Fulks, Emmett Scott Baze and MicKinna Raye Grimmett, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends. 

Pallbearers will include Johnny Baze, Mark Baze, Robby Baze, Russell Baze, Scott Baze, and Tanner Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will include Donald Ray Russell, Dewayne Rogers, Claude Welborn, Todd Belk, Randell Baze, William Baze, Mark Duncan Baze, Jacob Baze, Clay Carter, Justin Grimmett, Jo Belk and Clay Rogers.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 10 o�clock a.m. at Rattan First Baptist Church with Mark Duncan Baze officiating.

Interment will be held at the Baze Family Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers.
