Geneva Marcella (Lanning) (Colson) Armstrong

Geneva Marcella Armstrong, 79, of Krebs, Oklahoma passed on January 30, 2013 in her home.

Geneva was born in Albion, Oklahoma on April 4, 1933, to Ancel and Ruby (Miller) Lanning. She was a lifelong Oklahoma resident. She lived in Albion, Antlers, Oklahoma City and the later years were in the McAlester area. 

Geneva graduated from Albion High School, then went on to business college in Oklahoma City. She worked as an officer manager and dispatcher in the trucking business. In most recent years, she helped her son, Kit, as on officer manager in his drug testing business in McAlester.
In her younger years, Geneva enjoyed going dancing in Antlers at the VFW and various other places...especially with her uncle Don. She loved to read and watch Oklahoma sports teams, mostly the OKC Thunder. In her spare time she traced various branches of her family tree for hours and hours. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends when she could. 

Survivors include son, Kit Colson and wife Carla, of McAlester, Oklahoma, 2 grandchildren, Amanda and Austin Colson of McAlester, Oklahoma, 1 great grandson Bentley Hassett of McAlester, Oklahoma, brother, Vester Lanning, of the home, of the home; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents,Ancel C .Lanning and Ruby M. (Miller) Lanning and 2 husbands, Welch F. "Rabbitt" Colson and Joe Pat Armstrong. 

A family and friends visitation will be held at the Talihina Funeral Home on February 1, 2013, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Graveside services will be held the Albion Cemetery, Saturday, February 2, 2013, 2 p.m. with Bobby Mize officiating., under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
