Charles Ernest Farley age 75 of Wanette, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home. He was born December 16, 1937 in Oklahoma City.

Ernest grew up in Del City, then his family moved to Trousdale where he finished his junior and senior years in high school, graduating in 1956. Two years later he married the love of his life, Julie Ruth {Wood}. They were married on September 14, 1958 in Durant. Ernest and Ruth made their home in Wanette where they raised four children, Jorene, Charles, Diane and Timothy. They lived in town until 1984, when they moved to a small farm west of Wanette.

Ernest worked hard to be a good provider for his family. He worked 20 years as a Correctional Officer at LARC, while at the same time worked fulltime as a barber in Purcell. After he retired in 1995 he soon became a full time baby sitter to his grandchildren.

Ernest enjoyed being outdoors and living in the country. While his children were growing up on the farm, they raised farm animals including chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs and cattle. They always had a garden every summer with fresh vegetables to can. In his spare time, his favorite thing to do was bass fishing in the local farm ponds around the county with his friend Jimmie Ross.

Ernest was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Wanette and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd "Mutt" Farley and Roxie {Peeler} Farley; two sons, Timmy Farley in 1998; Charles Eugene Farley in 2009; two infant siblings, Lloyd Landell Farley and Jorene Marie Farley

e is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Farley of the home; two daughters, Jorene Myers of Wanette; Diane McMillan and husband Jim of Konawa; thirteen grandchildren, Darla Myers, Brenda Brasher, Heather Farley, Julia Farley, Patty Farley, Char-Lee Myers, Tessa Myers, Natalie McMillan, Emma McMillan, James McMillan, David Easton, Roger Easton and Daniel Easton; also numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
