Carl Watson, 69, of Tecumseh, former longtime Kennett, Missouri resident passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He was born September 5, 1946 to Carl and Katie (Walker) Watson in Caryville, Arkansas.

Carl was raised in Deering, Missouri and was 1964 graduate of Deering High School.

He met his future wife, Linda Mitchell on August 16, 1964 at Tommie’s Drive In and they were married on February 13, 1965 at Abiding Peace Temple in Kennett, Missouri. After marriage they moved and spent several years in St. Alban, Missouri where Carl worked as a hunting guide at St. Alban Hunting Club. They returned to Kennett in 1985, where they lived for many years and raised their three sons, and attended Abiding Peace Temple.

Carl worked at Kennett Housing Authority for 33 years and retired as Director of Maintenance in September 2011. After retirement he and Linda moved to Tecumseh where they have resided since.

He enjoyed fishing, baseball; he was a lifelong super fan of the Cardinals, being a hunting guide and training dogs in St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Katie Watson; and brother, Jerry Watson.

Carl is survived by his wife, Linda Watson of the home; 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Michael and Dawn Watson, of Bono Ark., Chris and Laura Watson, of Yukon, OK, and Tim and Jessica Watson of Earlsboro, OK; 8 grandchildren, Blake, Ciara, Cody, Aidan, Camber, Zeke, Tucker and Brynlie; 3 sisters, Sue Faught, Theresa and Greg Essen and Pam Butler; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will begin 12:00 noon, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 and continue until service time. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Reverend Mike Craig of Temple Baptist Church in Shawnee officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
