JANE MARIE TOONE

November 04, 1945 - May 26, 2018

Jane Toone, 72, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Shawnee.

She was born November 4, 1945 to Riley and Mary (Eaker) Biter in St. Louis, Missouri.

Jane grew up in many places, but called Poplar Bluff, Missouri home.

She met G.C. Toone, Jr. in California and they were married on August 26, 1976. They began their family in California and moved in the 1980’s to the Tecumseh/Shawnee area.

Jane worked as a part-time accountant and was a full time mom. She enjoyed painting, calligraphy, sign language and singing which she was very passionate about. Jane also enjoyed “talking” she was a great story teller. She tried many things in her lifetime to see if she could master them; once she did, she felt a great deal of accomplishment.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G.C. Toone, Jr.; grandson, Austin Toone; 2 brothers, Bob Biter and Bill Biter; and 1 sister, Arlene. Jane is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Trey and Barbara Toone of Shawnee, OK and Travis Toone of Shawnee, OK; 2 grandchildren, Veir Toone and Ashlyn Marie Toone; and many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Townsend, Bethel Acres Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
