Ricky Dug McMahan, age 63, of Tecumseh passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 in Shawnee.

He was born August 3, 1956 in Shawnee, OK to Ernie Dug and Jewel Dean (Potter) McMahan.

Rick was raised in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1974.

He married Judy Coffey on July 12, 1976 in Tecumseh. He has lived in Tecumseh since that time. Among Rick’s many talents through the years are; making pies at Arts Café, Loman Drilling, and eventually retiring from the City of Shawnee as a heavy equipment operator.

He enjoyed all things outdoors; fishing, (including noodling), and camping. He loved cooking and was an excellent cook. The family looked forward to Christmas dinner when Rick would bring his homemade rolls.

Rick was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, James McMahan; and his in-laws, E.E. and Oneta Coffey.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Earl “Dug” and Beckie McMahan; 1 granddaughter, Brailey; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and David Young; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Lisa Jones; 3 nieces, Jamy Hamilton, Amy McMahan and Angie Stuteville; close friends, Doug Westerman and Denise White; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 and continue until service time, with the family gathering to meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Heard officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
