DOUG MAYO

December 19, 1978 - June 19, 2018

Doug Mayo, 39, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Norman.

He was born December 19, 1978 to Robert “Bob” and Donna (Wilson) Mayo in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Doug was raised in Tecumseh and graduated with the class of 1997 from Tecumseh High School. After high school he attended Rose State College where he was a member of the cheerleading squad.

He worked as a bartender for many years at Dietrichs and Hot Rods.

Doug enjoyed music, loved playing sports and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Mayo; grandfather, Robert Westfall; and grandparents, Herman and Maxine Mayo.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Donna Mayo of Tecumseh, OK; 2 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Laurie and Chad Hicks of Washington, OK and Sarah and Tommy Carter of Tecumseh, OK; nieces and nephews; and other loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2018, with the family gathering to meet with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and continues through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd Tiffin, First Church of God in Tecumseh officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
