Wilma Dean White, 80, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed from this life Monday, July 6, 2020 in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 30, 1940 to William and Reba (Rust) Dodd in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Wilma was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools.

She married Burney White on December 6, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They lived in Tecumseh and begin their family in 1962 while stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California, later moving to Rosemond, California. In 1970 they moved to Seminole until moving to South Rock Creek in 1980 where they currently live.

Wilma worked at Wacker’s Retail Store in Seminole. She went to work for Dillard’s at Shawnee Mall during their grand opening where she continued to work for 10 years.

She enjoyed shopping, good coffee and had a secret recipe for Red Velvet Cake and icing. Wilma loved life, going to Red Lobster, cooking and taking care of everybody.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorrie White; granddaughter, Misty Howell; her parents, William and Reba Dodd; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 61 ½ years, Burney White of the home; son, Rick L. White of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Joe Martinez of Tecumseh, OK; 5 grandchildren, Andrew Holman, Amber Cope, Chantel Howell, Craig Holman and Ricky Tyler Howell; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Lillian Turner of Shawnee, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Solan and Pat Dodd of Shawnee, OK; and many loving friends and extended family. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2020 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Douglas, Shawnee Open Door Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.e
