Marilyn was born April 23, 1934 near Sparks, OK to Jess Leonard and Irene (Lentz) Morgan. She arrived exactly one year to the day after her brother, Robert "Bobby", was born. Marilyn grew up on a farm northwest of Shawnee and was a 1952 graduate of Dale High School.

On Sept. 13, 1952, she and Raymond Treat were married, after which they had three children: a son, David Ray, and two daughters, Paula Ann and Terri Lynn.

Marilyn was a graduate of Oklahoma Barber College. She owned and operated the Downtown Barbery in Shawnee, where she was actively engaged for forty-eight years until her retirement in 2010. During this time, she also earned her real estate license , though she never actively pursued a real estate career as a business venture. Marilyn was a member of the Church of Christ in Shawnee.

Marilyn was honored as a recipient of the Civic Recognition Award, which is given nationally in all 50 states to recognize outstanding individuals, who make personal sacrifices to improve their community. Marilyn often gave free haircuts to those less fortunate or in need and performed other countless acts of kindness and generosity, with no expectation of reward.

Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents, ex-husband, Raymond Treat and two brothers, Max Austin Morgan and Roger Willman Morgan. Survivors include a son, David and wife Jennie Treat of Shawnee, and two daughters, Paula and husband Paul Spess of Luther, OK and Terri Hale of Shawnee, as well as a brother, Robert Edwin "Bob" Morgan, Prague and her sister, JoAnn "Susie" Dudley of Oklahoma City. She had the following grandchildren: Konswallowa Rosamond, Chester France, Amanda France, Tyler Hale, Cody Spess, Danny Crouse, and Derrick Tarrant. She also had six great grandchildren: Lorelei Rosamond, Samuel Rosamond, Zavier Spahn, Zoie Spahn, Brantley Tarrant, and Chaurley Tarrant.
