GLENDA J. TARR

May 29, 1936 - October 31, 2017

Glenda Jean Tarr was born the only child of Albert and Mae Keys on May 29th, 1936 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She attended Earlsboro Public School, graduating in 1954 and attending East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma for one year. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leroy Tarr. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Sabrina & Phillip Curry (MWC) and Sheryl & Greg Budka (Shawnee), two grandsons and their spouses, Scott & Heather Comer (Earlsboro), Shawn Budka & Alyssa (Shawnee), two granddaughters and their spouses Stefanie & Casey Bray (Bethel), Ashley & Charlie Long (Norman), and six great-grandchildren, Rowdy, Chelsea, Haylie, Presley, Ellie, and Azden and best friend Cherie Goswick and numerous friends. Glenda was saved at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She joined Earlsboro Baptist Church in 1947 serving there as Sunday school teacher for the women's class and as church clerk.

She was employed at Tinker Air Force Base for 30 years. Her last position was Logistics Management Officer for the country of Japan. She enjoyed her job as it entailed traveling to various countries. Traveling was Glenda's pure joy. She visited 45 states and many countries including Fiji, England, France, Venice, Italy, Japan, Egypt, Mexico, Canada, and more than a few Caribbean Islands.

Glenda took life as it came and generally enjoyed it. She raised her Herefords and never complained of having to fix fence, tote bales of hay, or chop holes in ice. Sports was not something she doted on. She could bowl without too much fuss. Motorcycling, hauling a house on wheels, or puttering with a boat was not on her agenda. Water skiing was okay as long as you didn't get dunked. Square dancing and poker were Glenda's main form of entertainment and for 20 years she enjoyed the competition and the many friends she encountered.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home followed with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.
