TJ Sumpter of Oklahoma City passed away January 7, 2017. He was born in Fletcher, OK to James and Lillie B.Sumpter. Losing his mother when he was 4, he was raised by JD and Julia Sumpter. He graduated from Asher, OK where he met Oleta Brock, his wife of 63 years.

He served in the Army in France during World War II as a paratrooper. He is retired from Phillips Petroleum Co after 42 years. He was always so hard working and willing to work on family and friends' cars. He loved bass fishing and has several mounted beauties. He was a member of Central Church of Christ of Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters.

He is survived by his son Jim and wife Beverly, children: Jimmy, Kenny, Shelley and their families; daughter Jo and husband Don, children: Jeff, Darren, Traci and their families; 13 great grandchildren, 2 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters.

Services will be at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday January 10th at 1:30 pm.
