William “Bob” Raybourn, 90, of Shawnee, died on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his home.

Bob, the son of Harry and Rosa (Stevener) Raybourn, was born on July 26, 1928 in Appleton City, Missouri. He graduated from Appleton City High School. On January 23, 1950 he married Georgia Mae Childress in Albuquerque New Mexico, they enjoyed almost 48 years of marriage prior to her death on January 9, 1998. July 13, 1999, Bob married Laverne Thompson in Wheeler County, Texas. Laverne passed away on January 26, 2015. Bob spent several years in construction, starting with home building then moving into road and highway construction. Bob spent the majority of life however, working in oil and gas. He was a member of the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Commission, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, and the National Asphalt Pavement Association. Although Bob had enjoyed hunting pheasant and deer in his earlier years, his true passion was his work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; a brother, Straton Raybourn; two brothers-in-law, Jim Bock and Jim Haynes; and a son-in-law, Ross Cook.

Bob is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law; Jim and Margo Raybourn, St Louis Missouri area, Daughters and son-in-law; Kathy and Bill Whitecotton, Shawnee, and Mona Cook, Kingston, Stepson and daughter-in-law, Rick and Becky Thompson, Stepdaughter Sherry Kendall, Grandchildren; Jennifer and Mark Broyles, Candi Raybourn, Trey and Sarah Raybourn, Jaime Hightower, Khris and Laura Kendall, Amber and Bruce Rinehart, Josh and Sharon Thompson, Jacob and Carley Thompson, Will Thompson, and Elizabeth Thompson, Great grandchildren; Anna Raybourn, Will Raybourn, Sam Raybourn, Karson Kendall, Katie Kendall, Will Rinehart, Brak Rinehart, Audrey Thompson and Miles Thompson Brothers and sisters-in-law; Fred and Diane Raybourn and Harry Lee and Patricia Raybourn Sister; Julia Ann Bock, and Charlene Haynes, And numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

There will be a visitation for the Raybourn family on Friday, February 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Walker Funeral Service.

A graveside service will be Saturday, February 9, at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Mike McCauley officiating. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
