William Russell Lupton

William Russell Lupton, passed away on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 at home in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 57. Russell was much too young to leave us, and will be dearly missed by so many people who loved him.

Russell was born to parents Sam and Merroll Lupton on August 17, 1966 in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he grew up with his younger sisters Rhonda and Missy. He attended Will Rogers Elementary, and graduated from Liberty Academy. Russell attended Saint Gregory's University in Shawnee for a short time before joining the Army, where he earned his Infantry Blue Cord in Fort Benning, Georgia.

After his time in the service, he returned to Shawnee and worked at the family business, Lupton Painting, with his dad and several other family members for quite a few years. Russell had four children Trey, Josh, Ashlyn, and Hallie. Through all of his travels, Shawnee was his home where he was known by so many as a wonderful friend.

In 2016, Russell married the love of his life Ashley Kelley Lupton and gained a stepson, Nikolas Williams. Their lives were full of love and laughter, travels and adventures. Russell enjoyed watching OU football, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Freedom Assembly of God. His lasting impact on all of us left behind will be his kind heart, a true spirit of compassion and friendship, and his ability to always make people smile and laugh.

Russell is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Kelley Lupton and his stepson Nikolas Williams of the home; his four adult children, Trey Lupton, Josh Lupton, Ashlyn Lupton, and Hallie Lupton Moesta; parents Samuel Lupton and Merroll Lupton; sisters, Rhonda Lupton, and Melissa Roberts and husband Chad Roberts; nieces and nephews. Tanner Kelly, Hunter Kelly, Sam Kelly, Drew and Derek Price family including Laker and Myles, Darbi Roberts, and Delaney Roberts, many cousins and a host of friends who loved and cared for him deeply.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening, March 5th, 2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home with committal service to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park of the same location. Following the committal services, family and friends are welcome to gather at the home of Meli
