Billy Gene "Bill" Crow

Billy Gene “Bill” Crow, 93, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Musson, Oklahoma east of Shawnee on September 15, 1927 to Will and Sally (Truelove) Crow.

Bill attended Canadian Grade School and Shawnee High School. Bill began and raised his family east of Shawnee and has lived east of Shawnee since.

He married Joyce Long on June 28, 1953 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2015.

Bill was a lifelong farmer on the family farm. He along with his wife owned and operated Rock Creek Grocery during the 60’s and 70’s. He later worked for Skelly Oil Company delivering gas, Stewart Wholesale, Gibson’s and Belshe Trailer as a welder. Bill along with his wife operated Crow’s Vegetable Stand on 9A & Hwy 3 for 30 plus years. He loved telling stories, singing, whistling and enjoyed working the farm.

Bill served on the Earlsboro School Board for many years. He was also instrumental in working with Senator Haney to get a traffic light installed at 9A and Hwy 3 by filing a petition.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Crow; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Kathy Crow; his parents, Will and Sally Crow; and sisters, Pauline Steven and Modena Craven.

Those left to cherish his memory are 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Theresa and Rick Cody of Shawnee and Sherri and Terry Compton of Shawnee; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Ricky and Claudia Crow of Shawnee and Kenneth and Dena Crow of Shawnee; grandchildren, Brandon and Carra Crow, Jason and Dr. Lori Crow, Jared Cody, Kari and Rusty Bias, Aulia and Randy White, Kyle and Krissy Crow, and Ian Crow; great-grandchildren, Brenezley, Eli, Liam, Isabella, Sophia, Lillian, Owen, Eddie, Jace, Maddix, Kenley, Zoe, Jacie and Mesa; and many loving friends and extended family.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Nickerson, Hilltop Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
