Marilyn S. Moore Clark

Marilyn S. Clark, age 82, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her home.

She was born on September 13, 1940 in Harrah, Oklahoma to Ray and Jessie (Navarre) Moore.

Marilyn was raised in Harrah and attended Harrah Public Schools where she graduated from Harrah High School. In high school Marilyn and her sister Rosa were avid basketball players and met their future husbands, Don and Hub while they were supposedly "scouting basketball teams" for their coach. Marilyn and Don were married in 1958 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Marilyn earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree of Education from Central State University.

She taught family living at COJAC an extension of Tecumseh Public Schools for 26 years until her retirement.

Marilyn was a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She loved living on the ranch and enjoyed looking for arrowheads and rattlesnake hunting.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Clark; grandson, Maverick Donavan Clark; parents, Ray and Jessie Moore; brother, Eddie Moore and Harold "Ticky" Moore; and sister Evelyn Hopcus and Julia Walden.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 65 years, Don Clark of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bob Cain of Shawnee, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Julianne Clark of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jason Hawk, Michael Cain and Amanda, Madeline and Andrew Beach, Carter Clark and Chloe Clark; great-grandchildren, Memphis Beach and Krew Beach; sisters and brother-in-law, Rosa and Hub Reed of Shawnee, OK and Linda Capps of Shawnee, OK; sister-in-law, Sue Moore; aunt; Ruby Whitaker; and many loving friends and extended family.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to Macomb School Lunch Program in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2023 and continue through service time. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Peak officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
