MICHAEL RAY YOUNG
1958 - 2010


Beloved Father -- Tecumseh resident Michael Ray Young, 51, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born October 25, 1958 in Shawnee to Carl Richard and Ernestine Ervin Young.
Born in Shawnee, he was raised in Brooksville.
He lived in California for a while before moving to New Hampshire where he lived for fifteen years before returning to Shawnee in the early 1990's. He graduated from Macomb High School in 1976, and attended Bacone University, the University of Oklahoma and Northeastern State University.
He owned and operated One Way Tree Service. A jack-of-all-trades, he also worked as a salesman and in various other professions.
He was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
He loved basketball, family and friends and spoiling his baby.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Young; brothers, Winfield Young and Clyde M. Young; and his grandparents, Corie and Lela Ervin, and Jake and Nancy Young.
Survivors include his friend, Misty Dawn Mills of the home; daughter, Michale' Ann Young of the home; three sons, Monte Young and his wife Jennifer, of Edmond, Michael Young of Oklahoma City and Malcolm Young of Dover, New Hampshire; mother, Ernestine Young of Tecumseh; step-daughter, Juliana Mills of Shawnee; two step-sons, Ethan Fullbright and Marley Fullbright, both of Shawnee; five grandchildren, including Nautica Young of Shawnee; four sisters, Joyce Chandler of Wilson, North Carolina, Virgil Winrow of Earlsboro, Kathryn Oliver of Brooksville and Carolyn Young of Brooksville; three brothers, Carl Young of Shawnee, Clifford Young of Dover, New Hampshire and Sylvester Young of Colorado Springs.
Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Oliver officiating.
Burial will be at Brooksville Cemetery.
