VIRGINIA L. WRIGHT
1934- 2016


Virginia L. Brown Wright, 82, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 29, 1934 to Fryer and Margaret Christ-John Brown in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
Virginia graduated from high school and later attended nursing school.
She married Howard Wright and he preceded her in death.
She lived in Odessa, Texas for many years, before returning to Shawnee where she has resided for the past 20 years.
Virginia worked in the nursing field for many years and was a homemaker.
She was a proud member of the Sac & Fox Tribe.
Virginia loved quilting and going to the casino and was an avid OSU fan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Ray Lauderdale; her parents; four sisters, Delphine Foreman, Etta Marie McKinney, Phyllis Wilson and Katherine “Babe” Franklin; and four brothers, Glannister “Buck/Buster” Brown, Samuel Brown, Fryer Brown, Jr. and Aaron Brown.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Lauderdale of Odessa, Texas and Tracey Lauderdale of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughter, Janett Faye “Sissy” Lauderdale Baucum of Odessa, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Ellis Gray of New Hope Fellowship officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
