Moore resident Loyd Laverne Wilson, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in Moore.
Loyd was born April 5, 1923, to Tom and Annie Wilson in Washington, Oklahoma.
He served his country in World War II from 1942 to 1946 in Europe with the 102nd Infantry Division.

Loyd and Billie Ruth had recently moved to Moore to be closer to family before his illness.

He is survived by his wife Billie; son, Randy Wilson and daughter-in-law, Sharla of Edmond; one brother, Don Wilson and wife Shirley of Moore; two sisters, Wanda Burns and husband Hoyt of Washington; and Cozeta Jackson of Pueblo, Colorado; and a multitude of sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to a family friend Bennie Pierce for his help and support during Loyd's final days.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, at the Primrose Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Norman IOOF Cemetery.
Service is under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
