EARL BOYD WEST SR.
1930 - 2006


Earl Boyd West Sr., 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 12, following a lengthy illness. His battle on earth was fought with dignity and grace.
He was born June 24, 1930, in Pennsboro, West Virginia to Jim and Myrtle West.
Earl was a longtime truck driver, retiring in 1975.
He was a longtime member of Bible Temple Church of Shawnee.
Earl is preceded in death by his father, Jim West; his mother and stepfather, Myrtle and James Lucas; one son, Rickey West; one brother, Eugene West.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carolyn West of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Pam Lucas of Meeker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Jr. and Rachel West, Mike and Velma West, all of Shawnee; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Sherilyn and Jeff Schexnider of Mooreland,Oklahoma; Dolly and John Bettis of Bethany; Angie Hoffman of Shawnee; Carol and Doug Maley of Canton, Ohio; Karen and Jim Leonard of Miami, Florida; Betty and Jerry Weaver of Cleveland, Tennessee; Sharon and Steve Cherrine of Canton; thirty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren with one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and loved ones.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Gaskill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sloan officiating and the Rev. Guy Cagle assisting.
Burial will follow at Neal Cemetery.
