DON E. SULLIVAN
1936 - 2012


SHAWNEE, Okla. — Don E. Sullivan, 76, of Shawnee, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his home in Shawnee.
He was born January 16, 1936, at home near Asher to Warren and Jennie Decker Sullivan.
He was raised in the Asher/St. Louis area and attended Cloverdale and St. Louis schools. Don became a Christian at the age of 10.
He married Janice Noretta Bales on May 31, 1953, then again on September 3, 1955. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2004.
Don worked in the oilfield for more than twenty years before starting his own business, Sullivan Trenching and Construction Company in Dallas, Texas. He retired in 1987.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and watching wildlife outside his window.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, grandson, Jon Michael Sullivan, brother, Eugene Sullivan and sister, Virginia Eddings.
Don is survived by his daughter, Donetta Sullivan Young of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sandy Sullivan of Richardson, Texas and Greg and Lisa Sullivan of Knoxville, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Kyle Sullivan of Richardson, Texas, Chris Young of Weatherford and Aubree Sullivan of Knoxville, Tennessee,one brother, Jim Sullivan of Taft, California and many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, and continue through service time.
Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Curtis Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
