GEARY AMOS STRICKLAND
1940 - 1999


Geary Amos Strickland, Mayo, Florida, died Friday in Suwonnee County, Florida. He was 59.
Mr. Strickland was born on May 6, 1940, in Tulsa, to Leonard and Doyce Parsons Strickland.
He worked as a construction supply manager, and served with the U. S. Army.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He previously lived in Banford, Florida.
Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Doyce Strickland; and a sister, Theresa Stanfield.
Survivors include his five sons, Joel Strickland, Mayo, Florida; Leonard Strickland, Spokane, Washington; Lonnie Strickland and Geary Strickland Jr., both of Mount Vernon, Ohio; Gregory Strickland, Spokane, Washington; two daughters, Mary Strickland, Mayo, Florida; Maliisa Strickland, Mount Vernon, Ohio; three sisters, Karon Wolfe, Junction City, Ohio; Suellen Brown, San Diego, California; Katheryne Marie Strickland, Oklahoma City; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. today in Neal Cemetery, with the Rev. Jesse Hernandez officiating.
Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee.
