ORA BELL SIMPSON
1917 - 2008


Pocatello, Idaho — Pocatello, Idaho, resident Ora Bell Jett Simpson, 91, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008, in Pocatello, Idaho.
She was born May 14, 1917, in Atoka, Oklahoma to Joseph and Nannie Richard Jett.
On June 5, 1937 she married Bert Simpson in Gainesville, Texas.
Ora graduated with her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Idaho State University.
During World War II she was employed by Glen L. Martin Co., making Bomber Planes and also was employed at a steel plant as a crane operator. While in Pocatello she worked for Hawks Moving and Storage and also at Bannock Memorial Hospital, now Portneuf Medical Center, for many years, preferring not to work on the Pediatrics and OB/GYN floors because of her love and concern for little children.
Ora loved to fish and hunt with her husband when they were younger.
She was preceded in death by her husband June 20, 1979 and eleven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Charles Simpson of Pocatello, Idaho, step-daughter, Wanda Yoder and her children, Daleda and Rena, two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, brother, Richard Jett and his wife, Wanda of Stratford, Oklahoma and sister, Lena Allen of Stratford.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with her nephew the Rev. Chris Kutin, Chief Chaplain of the VA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas officiating.
Burial will be at Collins Cemetery in St. Louis, Oklahoma.
