BILLY SHANNON JR.
1961 - 2005


Funeral services for Billy “Butch” Shannon Jr., 44, of Wanette will be held today {Thursday}, July 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating. Interment will be at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Shannon died July 4, 2005 following a short illness in Tyler, Texas.
He was born May 19, 1961 in Oklahoma City, one of three children of Billy B. Shannon Sr. and Gelene Keesee Shannon. He was reared in Choctaw, graduating from Choctaw High School in 1979.
In 1984 he married Gail Mantle and together they were blessed with three children.
Mr. Shannon worked for many different companies throughout his life, including Tinker Air Force Base and most recently for Gregg Industrial Insulators as a forklift operator. He spent most of his adult life in Wanette before moving to Mt. Pleasant, Texas, in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Moyse Keesee and his wife, Faye, and Charley Shannon and his wife, Juanita.
Survivors include his parents, Billy Sr. and Gelene Shannon of Wanette; one daughter, Kelsie Shannon of Purcell; two sons, Judd Shannon and Jakob Shannon, both of Purcell; one brother, Jeff Shannon and his wife, Cathy, of Kilgore, Texas; one sister, Charlotte Effinger and her husband, Arnold, of Wanette and four nieces.
