RAYMOND M. RUSSELL
1919 - 2003


Shawnee resident Raymond M. Russell, 84, died Wednesday, December 10, at a local nursing home.
He was born April 13, 1919, in Bradley to E. J. and Grace Russell.
He attended Bradley schools and worked as a mechanic, retiring from Tinker Air Force Base.
On May 11, 1951 he married Betty Jean Brown Pitt in San Antonio, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army and then in the Air Force.
He was a member of Grace Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J. D. and Marion Russell and a sister, Leola Russell.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Russell of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jane Pitt of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patt Rosenbaum of Oklahoma City; and Betty and Jim Robertson of Shawnee; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Russell of Olympia, Washington; sister, Margaret Stevens of McLoud; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Robert L. Long officiating.
Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Tecumseh.
