HASKLE DOYLE RAWLS
1937 - 2011


Haskle "Doyle" Rawls, 74-year-old longtime Saint Louis resident, passed from this life April 25, 2011, in Shawnee where he moved eight years ago.
He was born April 20, 1937, in Wewoka to parents Mary Maudi May Shores Rawls and Jesse Owen Rawls.
Doyle attended Saint Louis and Asher schools, as well as Tecumseh High School before he went on to serve in the United States Navy where he served as a fireman for six years.
He married Leota Gregg June 1, 1956, in Romulus.
Doyle worked twenty nine years in the oilfield as a pumper for Grace Petroleum and York International.
He was a member of the Saint Louis Baptist Church and coached little league. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going dancing.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Leota {Gregg} Rawls; three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Kathy Rawls of Shawnee; Steve and Toni Rawls of Saint Louis; and Eric Rawls of Shawnee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Loretta Humrick and Danny Coleman of Shawnee; and Norma "Mousey" Rawls of Maud; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Bonnie Rawls of Tacoma, Washington; Dewitt and Ruth Rawls of Moore; Dennis and Connie Rawls of Earlsboro; one sister, Jerri Bruce of Moore; ten grandchildren, Chris, Kimber, Caroline, April, Bryan, Nicole, Stephen, Tabitha, Desera and Tim; eight great-grandchildren, Breanna, Becky, Christopher, Mallorie, Carlye, Kinyah, Casey and Jack; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Ladonna Gregg; Jack and Sue Thompson; Jim and Faye McMannis; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Ray, Troy, Burle, Earl, Ruth and Harold.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the Saint Louis First Baptist Church in Saint Louis.
Interment will follow at Wannette Cemetery with military honors. Pastors Glenn Peck and Brent McCutcheon officiate the service.
Casket bearers will be Greg Wilson, Perry Wilson, Kerry Wilson, Rusty Wilson, Troy Rawls, Shane Rawls and Shad Rawls. Honorary bearers will be Leon Price and Mike Rawls.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.
