DORIS GERALDINE NIXON
1936 - 2005
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd, for Doris Geraldine Nixon, 69, who passed away October 23, 2005 while surrounded by her husband and three daughters.
Gerri Nixon was born in Maud, Oklahoma and came to California as a very young child. Her parents settled in Shafter, California where she attended high school, married Bob Nixon and raised her family. Later, she and her husband moved to Bakersfield.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Gerri loved her family and taught them all the importance of family. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She loved traveling, especially family trips to Hawaii, Cambria and Newport Beach. Gerri will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years Bob Nixon, daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Kevin Stokes, Sherrill and Phil Fontes, Diane and Dan Teitscheid; grandchildren; Jessica Newport, Katie Newport, Allison Stokes, Audrey Fontes, Paige Fontes, Allison Hoff, Ben Teitscheid and Oliver Teitscheid; mother, Mayme Reynolds; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Allen Campbell; nephews; Eric Campbell, Christopher Nixon, Anthony Nixon and Matthew Nixon.
