HERSHAL WAYNE MURRAY SR.
1923 - 2013


Hershal Wayne Murray, Sr., 89, of McLoud, Oklahoma passed away February 13, 2013.
He was born October 4, 1923 to Sam and Dora Murrie in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
Hershal was a member of McLoud Pentecostal Holiness Church where he faithfully served as Deacon and Sunday school teacher for decades. Hershal loved the Lord and loved reading his Bible.
He was a truck driver most of his working career. He enjoyed fixing anything and everything.
Hershal built his entire house.
Hershal heard his country's call to the United States Army, where he became a World War II Veteran. He was a gunner in the 740th Tank Battalion in the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Murray; three daughters, Karen Murray, Darlene Bailey, Marla Mauldin and husband Ronnie; two sons, Wayne Murray and wife Susie; Dennis J. Murray and wife Robin; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at McLoud Pentecostal Holiness Church, McLoud, Oklahoma.
Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
