Lewis C. Miller, 72, of Oklahoma City, died July 4, 2003. Born November 9, 1930, in Stroud, OK, to Edwina M. Lightfoot and Lewis M. Miller.
He is survived by wife Barbara of the home; 2 daughters, Debbie Adams of OKC, and Sheila Mielke and husband Ron of Choctaw, OK; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Ashlee Adams of OKC; sister Darlene Weese and husband Roy of Blanchard, OK.
After serving in Korea with the Marines, he graduated Oklahoma City University. He later joined the Army National Guard and was instrumental in a program recruiting military retirees. During that time, he was actively involved in the Salvation Army boys boxing club. Before retiring in 1984, he was on active duty at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. He was an active and enthusiastic member of the American Legion and was recently elected Commander of Post #35. He was also a member of the 45th Infantry Division Association and Mayflower Congregational Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 9th, at Bethel United Church, Shawnee, OK.
