RALPH FRANK McCRAW
1917 - 1998


Tecumseh resident Ralph Frank McCraw died Saturday in Tecumseh. He was 80.
Mr. McCraw was born October 5, 1917, in Macomb to Frank and Merle Johnson McCraw.
He married Velma McLaughlin on September 18, 1939 in Wewoka.
Mr. McCraw attended school at Hope and graduated from Macomb High School in 1936.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1943 and flew 35 missions over Germany with the 445th Bombardment Group of the 8th Air Force. He served two years and was discharged as a staff sergeant.
He worked as a pipefitter in McAlester and Boise, Idaho. He began working in the physical plant at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1956 and retired in 1987.
McCraw was a member of the Oklahoma Fiddlers Association and the Tecumseh American Legion Hill -Huett Post No. 260.
Survivors include his wife, Velma McCraw, of the home; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Olivia and Clyde Voyles, Harrah; sister-in-law, Ruby McCraw, Howe, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Richard Merel Claxton, Norman; five nieces; seven nephews; aunt, Ollie Johnson, Shawnee; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl McCraw and Ray McCraw and sisters, Hazel McCormick and Mary Ash.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Robert Rider and Rev. Max McKee officiating.
Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery.
