1928 - 2016


Elisabeth Baumann May, 88, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Sunday, September 18, 2016.
She was born January 31, 1928 in Phaffenhofen an der ILM Bavaria to Johann and Martina Baumann.
She came to the United States November 18, 1954 and was married to Linzay Q. May on November 30, 1954 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2009.
She traveled a lot since her husband was in the military service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Martina, great-granddaughter Serenity, son-in-law Kim Storie and other family members over the years.
Surviving her are three sons, John May and his wife Terry and Charles May and Richard May, three daughters, Dolores Storie, Ruth Meeks and her husband Thomas and Lisa Williams and her husband Paul. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren. two sisters, Johanna Pfaffinger and Rosa Gröber and her husband Helmut, sister-in-law Ethel May, multiple nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
She loved her family dearly and made many personal sacrifices for them over the years. She is loved dearly and will be missed; especially on Sunday which was the day she gathered her family together to cook the best meals they ever had.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Craig of Temple Baptist Church Shawnee officiating.
Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
