ELOISE PENNY MADOLE
1915 - 2008


BETHEL, Okla. — Eloise Penny Madole, resident of Bethel for many years, passed away, Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the age of 93.
Eloise was born August 20, 1915 in Brown, Oklahoma to Gordon and Martha Penny.
She attended Bethel school and graduated from Bethel High School in 1934. In addition, she was valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended OBU for two years on an academic scholarship and later attended East Central University in Ada.
Eloise married Ennis T. "Buck" Madole June 20,1936 in Shawnee.
They moved to Reno, Nevada for several years but returned to Shawnee in 1951.
Buck passed away in 1989.
Eloise was a member of Bethel Methodist Church for eighty-two years. She became a member at the age of eleven and had been a member longer than anyone else in the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; two sisters; an infant son and her husband.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sally Madole of Shawnee; one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Ralph James of Wylie, Texas; two granddaughters, Shannon Madole of Edmond; and Kelly Gilpin of Plano, Texas; one great grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and several step-great grandchildren. In addition, Eloise had a special nephew and wife, Dr. Robert James and Janet Barnard; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Isabelle Penny, Denver, Colorado; niece, Mary Ruth Deathrage of Shawnee; nephew and wife, Billy Ray and Jackie Madole, Shawnee; as well as other nephews, nieces and cousins.
A special thank you is extended to Lois Bottoms, Tecumseh, for being such a wonderful caregiver to Eloise for more than three years. And the family appreciates Heartland Hospice nurse Chris Barry and her hospice team for their professional care.
Eloise will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be at Walker's until the graveside services.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery with Phil Thompson officiating.
