GILBERT L. LIMKE
1932 - 2004


Services for Gilbert L. Limke, 72, were held at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus and the Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating.
Interment followed in Tecumseh Mission Cemetery in Tecumseh under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
He was born January 4, 1932, in Trousdale to Henry Edward and Ida Cone Harmon Limke and died February 28, 2004, at his home.
He and Billie Jean Kieffer were married on July 3, 1952, in Tecumseh.
Gilbert grew up around Tecumseh and was in the National Guard and Armed Services from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean Conflict.
He attended East Central University where he received his bachelor of science degree in education and a master's degree in administration. He began his teaching career at Sulphur High School in 1961 as junior high principal, then served as athletic director, assistant to the superintendent, and temporary superintendent, retiring in 1990.
He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death was his parents and a sister, Dorene Williams.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Kathy LeGrande of Stillwater; two sons, Keith Limke of Yukon; and Kirk Limke of Edmond; two brothers, Harley Limke of Choctaw; and Ralph Limke of Oklahoma City; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bearers were his nephews, Rod, Scott, Mike, Larry and Todd Limke , Daniel Kieffer and David Kieffer. Honorary bearers were members of the Cleveland Cobb Sunday School Class.
