JOHN RAYMOND KNAPP
1921 - 1998


Retired printer John Raymond Knapp died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 77.
The Earlsboro resident was born March 21, 1921, in San Bernadino, California to George B. and Cora Green Knapp.
He graduated from high school in San Bernadino, California and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the Phillipines.
He married Betty Aldridge on April 12, 1943, in Oklahoma City, and had lived in Earlsboro since 1980. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Carmen Miranda of Hesperia, California; Nancy and Jeff Nalley of Shawnee; Rabecca and Mark White of Earlsboro; Melinda and Danny Billingsley of Earlsboro; two brothers, George B. Knapp of Seminole; Charles Peak of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Claudia Sevetkovich of San Bernadino, California; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Neal Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
