GEORGE KNAPP
1917 - 2000


Seminole resident George Knapp died Wednesday at an area nursing home. He was 83.
Mr. Knapp was born March 28, 1917, in San Bernadino, California to George and Cora Knapp.
He married Betty Jane Sullivan on June 28, 1942, in California.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and had lived in Earlsboro and Seminole for the past fifteen years.
Survivors include two daughters, Marrianne Lasby, Phoenix, Arizona; and Dellie Purkeypile, Seminole; four grandchildren, Betty Jane Fornaskia, Shawnee; and Tim, James and Toby Lasby, all of Arizona; two great-grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Neal Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
